DR. DOUGGL
BAILEY
HI,
I'm Douggl and I'm the highest-ranking candidate. I'm actually British, but having lived in Austria since childhood, I consider this my home, along with my family (Petra and our three children).
After studying medicine in Innsbruck, I first trained as a general practitioner at the regional hospitals and was able to provide emergency medical care full-time in the Bregenz district for a year. Following this, I completed training as both a pediatrician and an intensive care physician in Switzerland.
For the past five years, I have worked in pediatric intensive care, supporting and treating newborns, children, adolescents, and their families in critical situations. In my treatment, I prioritize a holistic approach and the targeted use of necessary medications. I value empathy and providing information to my patients. When you, as a patient or family member, understand what you are experiencing, you also know how to take action yourself, without needing a doctor's prescription. Of course, I'm not referring to the use of prescription medications, but rather to self-care and what you can do yourself to stay healthy. I believe in common sense and also in the usefulness of time-tested home remedies, some of which have been forgotten.
My practice focuses primarily on family medicine. This means I want to be able to treat, care for, and support children, their parents, and their grandparents and great-grandparents. At the same time, it's important to me that families can receive guidance from me and that I try to relieve the burden on the entire system by helping families learn to confidently handle even minor issues on their own.
I like to spend my free time with my family or on my bicycle.
